All aboard! It was great to support Foton Mobility Distribution (FMD) at a sod-turning ceremony today to mark the start of works at their new EV bus manufacturing facility.

When the clean energy buses roll out of the Nowra site later this year, local jobs and local manufacturing will roll in. Once completed, more than 100 skilled workers will be employed to build the electric vehicles.

FMD CEO Neil Wang was joined by NSW Transport Minister John Graham, Kiama MP Katelin McInerney and South Coast MP Liza Butler to celebrate the start of construction.

Neil said: “The Illawarra is a very special place to me. It’s where I built my life, raised my family and grew this business. To now be investing back into this region, creating jobs and opportunities for local people, is something I’m incredibly proud of.”

It was great to play a role on this milestone day for Neil and his FMD team.
