Media Training
Media training, if it’s done properly, builds rock solid confidence.
We have trained some of the biggest names in Australian energy at CEO and executive team level.
We have led executives through critical media appearances, prime ministerial press conferences and crisis announcements and seen them excel.
Our training has benefits that go beyond media appearances, with skills useful in conferences and board presentations.
OUR APPROACH
Most media training doesn’t work and here’s why.
Usually, it’s a rapid-fire grilling, using an approach that supposes that tough questioning leaves the subject “prepared”.
That has its place, but we think it’s nonsense.
Media training needs to build real confidence, not set out to damage it.
The grilling approach can do more harm than good, if it’s the primary focus.
Elexia has two training options: private one-on-one training and groups.
Executives don’t reach their positions unless they are knowledgeable and, on some level, are effective communicators in their area.
Yet media appearances remain daunting for many.
We know how to build the confidence you need.
Elexia knows how to build capability for those in the spotlight to be self-assured thought leaders, even those who don’t think they are naturals.
Elexia was set up by Mike Duffy who was on Channel Seven for a decade as an investigative journalist, in newspapers for more than a decade before that.
He has interviewed politicians, business leaders and celebrities.
We believe anyone can be trained to perform, building confidence through respectful practice is the key.
We use broadcast cameramen who work in television to give experience with all of the technical and performance elements of television appearances.
Elexia media training operates in Sydney, Melbourne, Tasmania, Brisbane and Adelaide.
