Elexia was founded by Mike Duffy, former Head of Media, Corporate Affairs for energy giant AGL Energy and Director of Strategy and Director of Media to the Premier of NSW. He was also a senior correspondent for Channel Seven. 

In 2024, Simon Wheeler joined Elexia as Senior Consultant and Head of Digital, an appointment which recognised the power of online influence in the energy sector. Previously Senior Director at internet pioneer Yahoo Inc., where he was responsible for all content creation across Australia, New Zealand, India and South East Asia, Wheeler has also worked at media giants News Corp and Daily Mail Group.
