We spend a lot of time thinking and talking about renewables and the projects that are powering Australia’s energy transition.

And every once in a while, we are reminded of their sheer scale and majesty.

We recently got a close-up look at RayGen’s Carwarp site near Mildura, Victoria.

Fields of mirrors (aka heliostats), towering receiver modules with satellite grade technology and giant water pits to store and use the heat from the solar energy made for an awe-inspiring day of filming.

Added to that futuristic set up is the automated heliostat assembly line, bristling with state-of-the-art robots that can produce up to 300 modules a day and can be deployed anywhere in the world.

It was a fascinating way of learning more about RayGen’s LDES solution, meeting the people who make it happen every day and seeing this Australian-made technology in operation.
